May you grasp how wide, how long, how high, how deep, the love of Christ is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is to great to truly understand. Then, you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

ROMA

As most of you know we just recently returned from Rome.Tyler had meetings and when I found out they were in Rome it was a definite that we were traveling with him. I mean who gets to go to ROME? Right? I could not have imagined it would be one of the greatest trips I have been on.
We were there for 5 days and knew that we needed to make the most of it! Tyler was able to join us at night and also Saturday and Sunday morning before we flew back to Malaysia. Here are a few of my favorites.

The Spanish Steps Completed in 1726 were built to link the church and the Piazza di Spagna.

The church above is the Trinita dei Monti's which was founded by the french in 1495

A Beautiful view of Saint Peters Basilica in the distance

The Trevi Fountian which was only completed in 1762 it is the first site of the Aqua duct built in Rome in 19BC.

The Trevi Fountain is seen in many movies like Eat Pray Love, and When in Rome.

The Pantheon in the Middle Ages was a Roman Temple of all the Gods.

                                                THE COLOSSEUM

We were able to take a VIP underground tour of the Colosseum, it was awesome. These tours had been shut down for the last 3 years because of rain and structural problems. This building was completed in 80 AD and held 55,000 spectators. We were in a group of 12 and were able to walk through the area that the gladiators stayed in and where the wild animals were held before their deadly battles.

We are actually standing on the arena floor where the battles took place.

Every year during holy week there is a procession led by priest from St. Peters to this cross and then mass is celebrated here in remembrance of all Christians who died in battle.

This picture is of the Holy Stairs which were brought to Rome by St. Helena from Jerusalem. These were the 28 steps that Christ ascended in Pontius Pilate's house during his trial. These holy steps are covered by wood and no foot may touch them. You can only climb them on your knees. This had to be the most touching and memorable part of my trip. As we climbed them as a family I thought of what a memory this would be! As I reflect on our trip I am truly grateful for having walked on holy ground.
