May you grasp how wide, how long, how high, how deep, the love of Christ is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is to great to truly understand. Then, you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

OUR EASTER TRADITION

One of our Easter Traditions that I have handed down to my children is the dying of eggs with silk material. We usually use old neck ties because these are 100% silk. As a little girl I have very fond memories of doing many fun things such as making homemade donuts, sleepovers, driving the elcamino, and dying eggs with silk. All of these events took place at my Aunt Tim's house, there was always fun to be had when we were with her. She never had any children of her own, but always had children at her house and there was always a plan for the day. Last time we were back in Louisiana we were able to visit with her, and even at 93 years old she is as sharp as a tack and will always hold a special place in my heart. This is dedicated to my Aunt Tim and passing on her Tradition.

SILK EGGS
To dye the eggs with silk you first cut your silk into pieces that will cover the whole egg. The silk must be dampened before it is wrapped around the egg.
The next step is to wrap the egg in a paper towel and use thread to wrap around the egg to hold the paper towel around it. The eggs can all be put in a pot and boiled on a low fire for 2 hours. Once the eggs are finished remove from water and let cool before unwrapping.

HAPPY EASTER!
